Museum To Celebrate Martin Luther King’ Day Jan. 28

Mr Amos Olorunnipa, the Curator, National Museum of Unity, Ibadan, says the museum will be celebrating Martin Luther King Junior's day on January 28 in Ibadan.

Oloronnipa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ibadan, that the office would join the rest of the world to celebrate the day for stakeholders.

Olorunnipa expressed delight at the exploits of King, especially the stopping of segregation between whites and blacks in the United States of America.

"We want to remember that someone did such a great work for us and left a legacy for people to follow.

"Martin Luther made people to know that both whites and blacks are equal and created by God, there should be no discrimination.

"We want to let people know that one can lay his or her life for one's country; If he could do that, we too can," he said.

The curator used the occasion to invite all stakeholders, especially the youths and school children, stressing that the aim was to inculcate the knowledge of Luther's works to them.

"There will be a lecture on the achievements of Martin as it relates to culture. There will also be a pictorial exhibition of his works, as well as gallery exhibition. So, we encourage them to come," Olorunnipa said. (NAN)
