Did Ngige Pay Fr Mbaka N850m To Join APC Campaign Team?

It has been exposed that the APC through Chris Ngige secretly paid a controversial clergyman called Rev Fr EJike Mbaka a whopping eight hundred and fifty million Naira, to attack Nigerian President Jonathan, as part of their strategic dirty campaign of lies, deceits, fabrication, distortion, intimidation and blackmail.

The money was arranged by River state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

It is not a secret that Amaechi hates President
Jonathan. So When the idea of bribing the dodgy priest was brought up by El-rufai and Buhari, Amaechi quickly volunteered to make the fund available.

This is not the first time the controversial
priest has patronized APC. During the Anambra state governorship election in November, 2013, 28 Worshippers died in a stampede caused by APC and its supporters.

Chris Ngige was heavily implicated on that tragedy. He tried in vain to blame it on Peter Obi who was then the governor of Anambra state. But despite all the attempt to smear peter obi, it failed.

We have in our possession documented implicating APC and Chris Ngige to that tragedy and the current bribing of the despicable Rev Mbaka.

Who Provoked Our President? By Dele Momodu

Fellow Nigerians, barely one month and some days to the start of our 2015 general elections, things are already falling apart. There was never a doubt in my mind that politicians would naturally heat up the polity to a boiling point before God rescues us as always from some wondrously amazing people.

The two leading parties of PDP and APC would do our country a great favour if they can eschew violence and stick to the basic tenets of Democracy. Their foot-soldiers in particular must be warned specifically about the inherent danger associated with deliberately causing mayhem aimlessly in one's own country. Most times, it is the poor who would be used as political canon-fodder while the children of the rich would be far away from the theatre of war.

The one man I expected to rise above the petty squabbles of electioneering campaigns is the President and Commander-in-Chief. Indeed, at the inauguration of his Presidential Campaign Team on Tuesday President Jonathan urged his
campaign team and Party faithful to be decorous in their language, focusing on issue and not personalities. However, barely two days later he was doing the exact opposite of what he had preached.

It is unfortunate that the President chose to go back on his words as he joined the fray two days later as he practically exploded in public during the flagging off of his re-election bid as President. The tone and tempo of his speech was stylishly vituperative. It could easily have been described as spitting fire and shooting from the hips. He appeared to me like a man who was under intensive pressure and didn't really know how to off-load the heavy burden on his chest.

I should have suspected that something unpleasant was about to happen after I read the news that the Presidency had responded in kind to the myriad of attacks and salvos fired at Dr Goodluck Jonathan by former President, General Olusegun Obasanjo, who has since become a loose cannon in the PDP. The former President has arguably become a one man riot squad against the second coming of President, was savagely and mercilessly described as a "motor park tout."

For me, this was the climax of a long-drawn battle between father and his godson. We've witnessed such bitter altercations and mutual insults in the past but this recent one took the cake. It is sad that this are the canapés we are
being served before the main dishes of sloganeering begin.

The global community must be wondering what manner of country ours is where elders throw decorum to the wind in the presence of infants and toddlers. What examples are we setting for the youths we all claim to love so much when we can't tolerate ourselves in the political arena?

All eyes are on Nigeria and in particular the President who is at present the father of the nation. This position is the highest in the land and it was apparently freely handed to him by the good people of Nigeria in 2011. Even before then, the same people had shown him immense love at a time he was being harassed by the proverbial cabal. At that time, no one complained that we hated the North just because we rallied round a man from the Niger Delta. Most of those claiming ownership of Mr
President today were nowhere to be seen then.

It is strange how success instantly catapults a man into a different level and planet. All manner of claimants would suddenly surface
from nowhere and chase everyone away. It is the tragedy of power in our clime where the man on the throne has to go through this terrible, and self-immolating, process of
deification. This is why most leaders often fail in office because they are usually far removed from reality.

This trait became very obvious as I watched the President deliver his speech in Lagos days ago at the start of his 2015 Presidential campaign. His party leaders were not in short
supply. Everyone came to pay homage to the man with the power to turn water into wine over 2,000 years after such a miracle was performed in Galilee.

One speaker after the other eulogised the President in superlatives. They raved about his transformation agenda which in their dream or
reality must have transfigured Nigeria into a Paradise on earth. Listening to those incredible guys one would have thought they were describing some far-flung places and a true
reincarnation of Lee Kuan Yew or a Chairman Mao leading the industrial revolution in Nigeria.

The President himself did not waste this moment, he was visibly pleased with the adulations which in reality were not meant by many of the speakers who had mastered the art and science of lying to anyone in government. I had waited patiently for the President's speech. I was certain he was
going to take a very subtle and conciliatory approach but I was very wrong.

The moment he took the microphone till he finished, the President was on the offensive. It was certainly not a charm offensive but one laced with pent up frustration and anger. He came on like a Heavyweight boxer chasing the World Heavyweight title. The President did not pretend about his intention which was to jab at his challenger using mostly unlawful blows and pummel him to a corner for a possible knockout.

President Jonathan sounded angry and agitated. He made generous use of the literary style of rhetorical questions. He threw many of such posers to his jubilant crowd who must
have wondered at the physical transformation of their candidate. If the President was known to be gentle and somehow taciturn in the past, he was the exact opposite on Thursday, January 8, 2015. He was clearly in an upbeat
mood and it reflected in his grandstanding.

Let's now go to the meat of his speech and try to examine the merits of the self-glorification, whether vain or otherwise.

The summary can be put simply thus: Mr
President blames his predecessors for all the woes that have bedeviled Nigeria. I wonder if he forgot that as at the last count, his political party has been in power for 16 years and
he has been the only Nigerian permanently in power since our return to democratic rule in 1999 as Deputy Governor, Acting Governor, Governor, Vice President, Acting President
and President. 16 years is a very long time in the life of a nation. Nigeria must have spent more money in those 16 years than all the different Republics and regimes put together but sadly without commensurate results.

Moreover, he also appears to have selectively forgotten that most of the predecessors that he is lambasting like Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, are card carrying members of his Party, the PDP, and thus their failings are the failings of his Party and by extension himself.

The President spoke repeatedly about the youths and referred to himself and others as being too old and half-dead. If so why is he contesting when there are many brilliant young people in his party? But it was a subliminal
message to discredit General Muhammadu Buhari as being too old to rule this generation.

"I do not want to address old people like me because we are spent already."

Unfortunately, it seems the President is not in tune with the current mood of the nation and his supporters are not likely to give him the true picture. Many of us don't care if the man
coming is going to rule from a wheelchair. We all run to the elders of the house in the days of tribulations. I wish to assure Mr President that unlike in the past when the PDP propaganda was able to truncate Buhari's mission of
rescuing Nigeria from the doldrums the story has changed miraculously today.

The youths have chosen to follow his crusade even if his enemies decide to change his age to over 80. They believe the younger leaders have not done any better than the gerontocrats we all love to deride as causing our failure. Therefore playing the kite of old age won't fly
this time around.

The President boasted that he has been able to conduct credible elections. I daresay that is not his doing but the action of the People of Nigeria who have resolved to protect their votes. Besides, he forgot to add that after wasting
billions of naira on data capture machines they were abandoned. The Nigeria Governor's Forum held an election of 35 people which saw a winner emerge with 19 to 16 votes yet our President recognised a loser choosing 16 above 19.

He said he believes in the rule of law yet the law is being desecrated and there are too many sacred cows in PDP. I dare our security agencies to storm any PDP Secretariat and
carry away their computers and staff the way they have been doing to APC. It is pitiable that a supposedly impartial State security and intelligence outfit will give one reason for
carrying out such a dastardly unconstitutional act but then recant and give another wholly diametrically opposed justification for such a raid.

The President is proud that Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa but people are asking how that has affected the lives of the people.

The Agricultural revolution being trumpeted is good no doubt, but it is not yet Uhuru. The
question is where is the food? What are the Prices? Where is the income that should flow from such agricultural miracle.

The President claims that he has done a lot for the security situation in the country. However, it seems that the President is fantasising about another country. At no time in Nigeria's history has insecurity reached the level that it is now. There are regular killings, bombings, kidnappings, abductions, raping not to mention the unresolved saga of the Chibok Girls. A country whose military has received endless praise on many peace-keeping missions overseas cannot deploy the same military to effective use in finding almost 200 girls who remain missing. That is an indictment on the President which no whitewash can hide.

The simple truth is that our people feel unsafe, even those few who have turned our much maligned police force and soldiers into personal 'maiguards'!

The President claims that one of his achievements in the petroleum sector is that Nigerians no longer queue for petrol. Although that is incorrect because there are still regular intervals when there is petrol scarcity the truth is that Nigeria as an oil producing nation has never had it so bad. The price of petrol and petroleum products are the highest they have ever been. Even when the world crude oil
prices have fallen by more than 100% and the Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala admits that there is no longer any subsidy on petrol, the price has remained the same. Her justification, which I referred to previously, is too puerile to repeat because it is an insult on the intelligence of Nigerians.

As Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola said in his own reaction to the President's speech:
"I spent about an hour this afternoon listening to the President in my State and, for almost the same period, I saw a very angry President. I saw a President who was recriminating about people criticising his job performance and was blaming all those who ruled before him forgetting that he had been on this job for six years.

And he kept saying that, 'They say we don't have a plan.' But for 25 minutes, he did not reveal a plan on power; he did not reveal a plan on security; he did not reveal a plan on
corruption. Now after six years, without being able to articulate what he is doing and what he will do, and he keeps blaming everybody, forgetting that he is the Commander-in-Chief, if
the kitchen is too hot, as it is becoming of late, you must get out of the kitchen."

I'm almost certain the President will receive more knocks from other stakeholders for this newly acquired belligerent disposition. My advice as usual is very simple. A man should
never change what has worked wonders for him all his life. The President's gentle mien had always been his secret weapon. A man who did not lift a finger to become President need not wage a war to retain it.

Elections are never won by abusing potential voters but usually through the use of
persuasion. Those who are misleading the President are not helping him. All they've succeeded in doing is to alienate the electorate and paint him as someone who is very desperate for power.

I advise the President to maintain his calm dignity instead of fighting real and imaginary enemies on all fronts. There is nothing more he wants from God. He has been very lucky but there is no need to overstretch that luck. If perchance he is defeated on FEBUHARI 14 (as some people have described the election date), the President should accept his fate graciously and return home triumphantly. Anything else may wipe out all that he has effortlessly achieved.

Mr President, there is life outside government.

Revealed: Only Manchester United Can Afford To Sign Messi

Manchester United and Real Madrid are the only two clubs that could sign Lionel Messi for an outright fee within Financial Fair Play rules, SPORTSMAIL reports.

And considering that the prospect of Messi moving from Barcelona to their arch rivals is unlikely, then the Old Trafford club may be the only realistic destination for the Argentine if he was to leave the Nou Camp.

Even then, meeting the 27-year-old's astronomical wages without breaking UEFA's FFP rules could prove a struggle.

An offer of £196million would meet Messi's buy-out clause and oblige Barcelona to sell if it was the player's will to leave.

Rob Wilson, a football finance expert at Sheffield Hallam University, told the BBC : 'With the revenue they generate and cash reserves, only United and Real Madrid could pay the fee.

'With salary costs probably even they couldn't stay within FFP.'

If a club exceeds losses of more than £23.5m over a three-year period that includes the current campaign, they open themselves to the prospect of sanctions by UEFA.

A staggered transfer payment could avoid any breach of rules but it is believed that Barcelona would be unlikely to accept this.

Wilson said: 'Unless Messi absolutely wanted to get out of the club, why would Barcelona agree to that?

'Staggering the payments would certainly make it easier for Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Bayern Munich but Manchester United demanded the fee up front when they sold Cristiano Ronaldo and I strongly suspect it would be the same for Messi.'

Barca coach Luis Enrique is believed to be on borrowed time amid talk of a bust-up with Messi while Andoni Zubizarreta was sacked as sporting director this week and club legend
Carles Puyol left.

Barcelona are not allowed to sign players during 2015 after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld a FIFA ban handed out for a breach of rules relating to the signing of
players under the age of 18.

Speaking on Friday, Chelsea assistant manager Steve Holland acknowledged that the prospect of ever signing Messi was unlikely due to FFP rules.

Holland said: 'Signing (someone like him) under FFP I would think is impossible. We have to balance the books here.'

Jose Mourinho doesn't want any transfer activity in January

Cristiano Ronaldo Is The Future Of Football, Claims Del Piero

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has lauded Cristiano Ronaldo as the 'future' of football but said Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will win the Ballon
d'Or, MAILONLINE reports.

Neuer, Real Madrid talisman Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi are the final three contenders for the award, with the winner being announced on January 12.

Del Piero claimed that although 2013-winner Ronaldo's personal stats were hugely impressive, he felt Neuer would scoop the prestigious award.

'The three Ballon d'Or finalists are the best of the bunch, no question,' Del Piero told FIFA's official website.

'Cristiano Ronaldo's personal stats are truly impressive. A lot has been said about the concept of "the modern player", well this guy
is not just modern but also of the future.

'Messi, for his part, is the real deal when it comes to No 10s. I remember during the World Cup in Brazil seeing countless kids wearing his jersey – even Brazilian youngsters wearing
the shirt of an Argentine! He represents a type of football that transcends borders.

'As for Manuel Neuer, he's given us a new way of interpreting the role of a goalkeeper: not only is he very good with his feet, he also brings more mobility to his team. On top of that, he's obviously a superb shot-stopper and Germany's world title owed a lot to him.

'I'll chance a prediction and say the winner will be Neuer. He was integral to Germany's great World Cup and to a wonderful season for Bayern in the Bundesliga.'

Chelsea earn $1m cash boost From 2014 World Cup while Arsenal, Man City and United also benefit

Stars like Andre Schurrle helped Chelsea earn almost £800,000 from the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

SportsMail reports that the Premier League's traditional top-four powers have all netted seven-figure sums from last summer's tournament in Brazil.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City received the hefty payments from FIFA in recognition of their top players' exploits at world game's showpiece event.

Stamford Bridge midfielder Schurrle helped Germany go all the way to the title in South America, boosting the Blues' FIFA payment in return.

Governing body FIFA has distribute £46.3million to clubs across the globe, with each outfit rewarded for the number of players who attended the World Cup.

Bayern Munich received the world's highest club payment, of £1.1m owing in part to Germany claiming the crown.

The European Club Association (ECA) was integral in setting up the payments scheme that started for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

'The ECA is pleased to announce that 396 clubs affiliated to 57 different national associations from around the globe will receive a share of the benefits from the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil,' read a statement released by the club body.

FIFA determined each club's payment by starting with a set fee of £1,850 per player per day spent at the 2014 tournament.

Spanish giants Real Madrid were also among those receiving seven figures, recouping £860,000 for their World Cup contingent.

Chelsea recouped £793,000 ($1.2m), the highest figure for any Premier League side.

Jose Mourinho takes vow of silence after being hit with FA misconduct charge

Jose Mourinho has taken a vow of silence after being charged with misconduct by the FA for claiming there is a campaign against his Chelsea team, MAILONLINE Reports.

The Chelsea manager bailed out of his usual media duties on Friday within minutes of the FA confirming that he had been charged following his comments at Southampton.

MAILONLINE reports that Mourinho lost it with referee Anthony Taylor after he booked Cesc Fabregas for simulation when he should have been awarded a penalty when he was fouled by Saints left-back Matt Targett in the 55th minute.

Chelsea had sent a circular to the media on Thursday afternoon confirming his usual pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Within minutes of the FA's announcement assistant manager Steve Holland was substituted.

Mourinho has until 6pm on January 13 to respond to the FA charge and can request a personal hearing following Thursday's statement by the game's governing body.

An FA spokesman said: 'It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a referee or referees and/or bring the game into
disrepute.'

At the time he said: 'The media, commentators, other managers are all doing it [putting pressure on referees].

'There is a campaign against Chelsea. I don't know why there is this campaign and I do not care. Everybody knows it was a penalty.'

The Chelsea chief has already been formally warned about his behaviour after demanding a strong performance from referee Neil Swarbrick before their 2-0 victory over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

The FA added: 'Having sought his observations on this matter, the FA has decided not to bring a disciplinary charge and instead issued him with a formal warning.

'The FA prohibit participants from making any pre-match media comments, including comments of a positive nature concerning the appointed match officials for a particular
fixture.'

Wayne Rooney voted England player of the year by fans

Wayne Rooney has been voted England player of the year after topping a poll of Three Lions fans.

Although he failed to inspire England to success at the World Cup, 2014 was a momentous year for Rooney individually.

The 29-year-old scored eight goals in 13 appearances and was named England captain following Steven Gerrard's retirement from international football.

The Manchester United skipper also earned his 100th cap and moved to within three goals of Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time scoring record.

Rooney took 27 per cent of the votes from an online poll of supporters club members, more than second-placed Danny Welbeck (11 per cent) and third-placed Raheem Sterling (seven per cent) combined. It is the third time he has won the award.

Rooney told the FA's website: 'I'm both very happy and proud to be named the England fans' player of the year.

'The fact that this award is chosen by the fans makes it even more special, so I would like to thank all those who voted. I would also like to thank all the England fans for their support throughout what was a mixed year.

'Receiving an honour such as this from the fans is always something that fills you with personal pride.

'But it is important to point out that without the support of my team-mates, coaching and backroom staff such an award would not be possible. I therefore accept this from the fans
on behalf of every single member of the England team.'

Manchester City's Toni Duggan claimed the women's player of the year award. Saido Berahino won Under-21 player of the year.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets misunderstood as arrogant, says Zenit boss AVB

Former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes Cristiano Ronaldo's ambition is unfairly mistaken for arrogance, and the Real Madrid forward should now be considered as the world's best player - ahead of Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo is in line to win the Fifa Ballon d'Or this coming Monday after another scintillating year for club and country - scoring 63 goals in all competitions.

The 30-year-old is up against Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the best player of 2014 award.

Cristiano Ronaldo honoured with statue in native Madeira And Villas-Boas - who now manages Zenit St Petersburg - believes Ronaldo deserves all the success that comes his way, after in his words incorrectly being labelled as 'arrogant' in the past.

He told Laures: 'I think sometimes drive and ambition of individuals should not be confused as arrogance, and sometimes Cristiano gets that tag on him.

'He is a bit 'chased' publicly in some way and I do not understand why, but I think this kind of phenomenon happens to him.

'Cristiano does not get that margin of respect that sometimes Messi does, but you know hopefully this determination and passion has shown that for this time round he deserves to win it.'

In Villas-Boas' mind there is no doubt who he now regards more highly as a player, after previously favouring Ronaldo's compatriot and Barcelona No 10 Messi.

He added: 'In the past I have been in favour of Messi, but the drive, the ambition and the performances of Cristiano recently exceed limits.

'We are speaking about two of the greatest players in the history of the game.

'What I would say is that in this generation they are both incredible. I think Cristiano this year 2014 and also going back to 2013 has been amazing.'

Radamel Falcao wants Manchester United stay, But Do Fans Want Him?

The future of Radamel Falcao is set to be decided by Manchester United in April, with the striker reaffirming his desire to stay in England, According to a report published by MAILONLINE.

Last summer's loan signing from Monaco has found life tough in England - scoring just three Premier League goals in 12 appearances - but he has bedded himself into Louis van Gaal's side in recent weeks.

That has served as encouragement for a club shelling out £265,000 a week on the Colombian and means they are now more receptive to a permanent deal than before.

MAILONLINE reports that It would still cost United around £43million to sign Falcao from the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season. That's something which the 28-year-old is desperate to happen.

'I'm good,' Falcao told ManUtd.com. 'My family are comfortable. We're enjoying life in Manchester and here at the club. The people have been great with me, with my family. We're happy and very grateful.

'Right from the start, they [my colleagues] welcomed me. They supported me and helped me with whatever I needed. They are a really humble group of players, really decent and, well, I was taken aback by how kind they've been.'

Falcao hasn't been prolific but has scored two important goals in the recent draws against Aston Villa and Stoke City, with United supporters treated to an archetypal South American celebration.

'I place a lot of value in the hard work that I have to put in for each goal and I know just how much effort it requires, so that's why I celebrate like that,' he explained. 'For me, each
goal means a lot so I put a lot of passion into my celebrations.'

Falcao has never played in a league quite so quick, but relishes the challenge.

'It's more attractive than the French league,' he added.

'Defenders are stronger and more aggressive. In a good way, you know? It's intense and, well, overall just more physical.

'First of all, I'd say thank you so much for the way the fans have treated me. Then I'd want to wish them a happy 2015 and I hope that we can bring them some happiness.'

‘I Can See Messi Joining Chelsea’, Admits Former Barcelona Team-mate

Lionel Messi COULD join Chelsea, according to former team-mate Andrea Orlandi.

According to talkSPORTS, the Argentine superstar's future is currently being discussed as his relationship with manager Luis Enrique sours at the Nou Camp, with the Blues apparently considering an audacious £200million swoop for his services.

And while there have been rumours about him leaving the La Liga giants in the past, Orlandi, who spent two years with Barcelona, believes it now appears more likely than ever he could exit the club.

"What I know from people there is that from day one the relationship [between Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi] wasn't the best and obviously now it's getting even worse," he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

"Messi didn't get picked at the weekend and the next day there was an open day for the kids, it's a big day in Spain, the sixth of January [Three Kings Day]. There were 15,000 to watch training and Messi didn't turn up. That really wasn't good from him and obviously it's not looking good at the moment.

"It looks like [we could see Messi at Chelsea]. The rumours in Spain are that Chelsea are after him and I can see that happening because it's probably the first time a story [like this] about Messi has come out. There have been loads of stories over the years but nothing has come out in the press but it's been publicised [now] and everyone knows there is a problem there.

"I don't know who has done it [made the problems public] or who wants Messi to leave, whether it's the club or him, but it looks like he could be going."

The Nigerian Economy Will Crumble If Jonathan Loses, PDP Warns

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic
Party, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has warned that if President Goodluck Jonathan
fails to win next month's election, the South-South could shut down
the oil sector and this would affect the nation's economy which is
oil-dependent, PUNCH Reports.

Agbaje, however, asked that if another part of the country shuts down
over the failure of its candidate emerging President, would it have an
equal effect on the economy since Nigeria relies heavily on the Niger
Delta for its foreign exchange earnings.

Jonathan hails from the South-South while his major contender, Maj.
Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress, hails
from the North-West. The PDP governorship candidate said this at
meeting in London organised by his supporters and the UK chapter of
the PDP.

In the six-minute video clip posted on DiasporaPr.com, which was
sighted by our correspondent, Agbaje warned that Jonathan's victory
was imperative.

"I was active in the politics of the South-West in 1999. The Afenifere
of which I was a very active member, did not support Olusegun Obasanjo
as President but in 2003, it was difficult for the Afenifere as an
organisation to go out and tell people that they should not vote a
Yoruba man into office and so what did they do? They said they would
not present a candidate because they had their own son (Obasanjo) who
was running for office. That is the politics of that country.

"Now, in 2015, we are saying that the South-South has presented a
candidate and we are talking about equity and some are saying that he
should not be given a second term. This is a very difficult thing.

"In argument, some have said 'what will happen?' Well, people will be
upset and they have shown that they have the power to shut down the
system. I am not saying it is justified but the reality is there. If
the system is shut down, where are we as a country?

"They say if the others don't get it, they too could shut down the
system. Yes they can shut down the system but ask yourself which of
the two do you think we can survive with? And these are the realities
that we have to face.

"These are the realities that we have to allow. First, we have to sell
the achievements of our person but we have to understand the politics
of our country that we are still doing turn by turn and it must run in
a way that is equitable."

The PUNCH Reports that, Agbaje said Jonathan had done very well but
his achievements were not been publicised well enough. He said Buhari
was too old to rule, adding that he was being controlled by people
with selfish ambition.

He said, "The Buhari of 2007 and 2011 is not the Buhari of 2015. The
Buhari of 2015 is a more compromised candidate. He is not working on
his steam any longer; he is working on the steam of those who want him
there for their own reasons."

The Barclays Premier League 2015-16 season to start on August 8

The Premier League has announced that next season's competition will begin on August 8.

According to MAILONLINE, the Barclays Premier League season will be followed by the European Championship, and the Premier League's move could allow England manager Roy Hodgson additional time to prepare his side, should they qualify for the tournament.

In a short Twitter posting, the Premier League stated: 'The 2015/16 £BPL season will kick off on Saturday 8 August'.

The date for the final day of the season has yet to be announced.

It will not be the earliest start to a Premier League campaign, with that remaining the August 7 opening day of the 1999-2000 season.

Is Luis Suarez heading back to England? Chelsea, City, United on red Alert

Luis Suarez faces an uncertain future at Barcelona following the dismissal of sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and the resignation of his assistant Carles Puyol, writes Neil Ashton.

The Uruguay striker is coming under increasing scrutiny at the Nou Camp since his £75million move from Liverpool and is under pressure to rediscover his goal-scoring form.

Despite just three goals in 12 games since his move from Anfield in the summer, his situation at Barcelona will be monitored by the top clubs in the Barclays Premier League.

According to MailOnline, Arsenal previously tried to sign him but Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea will continue to monitor the forward's progress over the next five months.

Barcelona have been decisive in the past with top players and sent Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan to AC Milan when he failed to settle into Pep Guardiola's side after his £50m move from Inter.

Although Barcelona have no intention of selling Suarez yet, he could be the fall guy in the summer under a new regime at the Nou Camp.

Club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed that he was calling the presidential elections early.

Suarez's position is further complicated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision to uphold FIFA's one-year transfer ban for illegal approaches to under-age players, which means they cannot replace him yet. The Uruguay
forward, who completed a four-month ban for biting in October, was brought in during the summer on Zubizarreta's watch.

Suarez was desperate to join Barcelona and got his wish when Liverpool accepted a £75m bid for him. Coach Luis Enrique, battling to save his job at the club after falling out with Lionel Messi, has played Suarez in various roles up
front. He started last Sunday's clash with Real Sociedad but the striker was unable to prevent them losing for the third time this season in La Liga.

He has scored just once in the league — the 5-0 victory over Cordoba on December 20 — and has scored twice in Champions League victories over Apoel Nicosia and PSG.

Puyol announced he had terminated his working contract at the club in the wake of Zubizarreta's sacking on Monday.

Steven Gerrard Should Have Joined Chelsea When He Had The Chance, Writes Adrian Durham

Finding nice things to write about Steven Gerrard isn't a challenge. Answering the unanswered questions remains the big issue with this Liverpool legend.

I'm not talking about the reasons behind his departure – Liverpool have their side of the story, Gerrard's allies will have his side. But he's too decent a guy to openly encourage
criticism of the club he has been a massive part of for so many years.

There are two questions that still need analysis in my view: First, should Gerrard have left Liverpool at some point in his career? My answer is yes, and it's not with the benefit of
hindsight.

Forget Captain America and Superman, no fictional superhero comes close to what the real thing achieved in Istanbul in 2005. Gerrard's performance was from the most excitable, over-dramatic comic book of all time.

It ranks as one of the very best individual performances in a football match the world has ever seen, if not the very best. What makes it even more remarkable is that Gerard went
through that Champions League-winning season feeling unwanted by Liverpool, unsure about the direction in which the club was going, and with his family witnessing disgusting abuse towards him from Liverpool fans.

Gerrard was able to rise above that to guarantee a place in Liverpool, and football, history. That in itself is a measure of the man, and it is why the time was right straight after that Champions League victory for Gerrard to leave Anfield.

In 2004 Gerrard had been linked with a move to Chelsea, whose new manager at the time, Jose Mourinho, spoke highly and openly about the Liverpool captain.

Gerrard saw the speculation and told Liverpool he wished to stay but that he also wanted guarantees that the squad would be strengthened as they struggled to compete for the title.

Throughout the 2004-05 season, while Gerrard was ripping up trees across Europe, Liverpool failed to put a new contract on the table for him, yet Rafa Benitez was in his ear telling him to sign a new deal.

Rafa had already told Gerrard privately that the club did not have a lot of money to spend in the transfer market, so the captain wanted to know how Liverpool planned to compete with players like Josemi, Djimi Traore and Salif Diao in their
ranks.

And then the moment that for me should have sealed Gerrard's departure: February 27, 2005, when Cardiff hosted the League Cup final.

FA Cup win would be wonderful send off for Steven Gerrard Liverpool led from the first minute, Gerrard's own goal levelled it with just over 10 minutes to go, and Chelsea went on to win in extra-time.

Gerrard's mum was in the stands, and around her some Liverpool fans were calling the captain a 'traitor' and calling his wife a 'slag' and a 'slut' and accusing him of only being interested in money.

According to those fans, Gerrard had scored the own goal because he wanted to join Chelsea. His mum was distraught, and so was Gerrard.

Still this colossus played his heart out for the club and the fans, and that special night in Istanbul came just a few months after the Chelsea defeat in Cardiff.

After the Champions League final Gerrard told the club he was ready to sign for five years at Liverpool. Even then nobody at Anfield seemed in a hurry to sort out Gerrard's new deal.

Barcelona, Roma, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea had all shown serious interest in signing Gerrard. He wasn't short of options at home or abroad. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard breaks silence on Anfield exit.

His stunning effort and quality had been the key factor in winning the Champions League, but they were miles off winning the Premier League title he craved. Gerrard could work miracles in certain matches, but not over a 38-game season.

He felt badly treated by the club, he had been abused by a pocket of fans, and the surplus of mediocre signings showed the club's ambition did not match his.

He'd proved anything that needed proving in Istanbul. The summer of 2005 was the time for Gerrard to seek a new challenge. I admire his loyalty of course, but in my view it was misplaced, and that's when he should have left.

And now, less than a year after quitting England to focus on Liverpool, the club have not matched Gerrard's loyalty by making it so easy for him to leave.

Second, was he better than Frank Lampard? Again my answer is yes, and that has been confirmed for me by the lack of class Lampard has shown towards Chelsea Football Club and its fans this season.

A simple text from a Chelsea-supporting friend of mine on New Year's Day read: 'Happy New Year! Lampard – what a w*****!'

Lampard is a Premier League legend, and while the record books will mark his contribution to Chelsea's incredible years of success with him sparkling in their midfield, that legend status among the Stamford Bridge faithful is in danger of being revoked.

To go to their title rivals is bad enough. To choose to stay there for the whole season is a slap in the face to the Chelsea fans. It's something I do not believe Gerrard would do to the Liverpool fans.

In terms of their ability on the pitch, Lampard shows class at getting into the box from midfield and scoring goals. Gerrard has so much more and he has been class at virtually
everything he has done.

Gerrard is a born leader as well, a classic captain. He's made a team shine despite being surrounded by mediocrity, Lampard only ever did it with quality players around him.

If England had played three in midfield – Carrick behind Gerrard and Lampard – they could have played together. But even our foreign coaches seemed obsessed with 4-4-2.
In the World Cup in 2006, Sven Goran Eriksson told Gerrard to hold back while Lampard went forward. What kind of coach thinks telling a player like Gerrard in his prime to play within himself is a good idea?

People will have different views on whether Gerrard should have left Liverpool, and whether he was better than Lampard. Let the debate rage on.

All I know is that I will miss Steven Gerrard, the Premier League will miss him. And I believe Liverpool will lack leadership and quality when a man regarded by many as their greatest ever player has departed.

UNIBEN Students Riot, destroy cars, buses, lorries

The University of Benin, Benin City, is in a chaotic situation this
morning as students go haywire rioting, blocking roads, causing severe
traffic jam.

The cause of the riot is still unknown; however, those who spoke to
our resources indicate that it might have been as a result of a
controversy between the governor of the Edo State, Governor Adams
Oshiomhole, and the Immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University,
Prof Oshodin.

A source who communicated with our correspondent said: "the students
are rioting this morning because Governor Oshiomhole demolished the
house belonging to the former VC of the school."

Another source sent us this message: "Benin is hot this morning,
University of Benin students are rioting, blocking roads, burning
cars, buses, and lorries; please, do not go towards that area for
now."

Earlier, a correspondent of ours enroute to work confirmed that there
was actually a severe traffic and road blocks, but could not really
ascertain the cause. As the day progresses, we hope to give an update
of the situation in Benin.

2015: Those Attacking Fr Mbaka's Prophecy should be very careful - Uwalaka

Those attacking Fr. Mbaka's prophecy for Nigeria in the 2015
presidential election should be very, very careful. Most of those
attacking him are carnal minds and must stop now or attract the
wrought of God upon themselves.

When a prophet prophesies u need to know the context of such prophecy
and why God asked him to speak at that point in time. It doesn't mean
that Buhari will automatically win the election.

It's possible God wants Jonathan to hear such prophecy as warning and
develop a better mind for a better governance in his 2nd term in
office. If he repents he might win and Nigeria will receive better
governance under him. Rather than analyse God given prophecy with
carnal mind it's more advisable to pray for a better Nigeria.

The problem People have today is that they want to hear the voice of
man and not the voice of God. Many so called men of God are now
corrupt with politicians and even indulge in false prophecies. All
churches in Nigeria are victims of this.

Let God's will prevail for Nigeria in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lionel Messi Would Cost £172Million If Sold This Month, Will You Pay?

Lionel Messi would cost a whopping £172m should any of Barcelona's rivals want to whisk him away this month, according to research into the current market values of the world's leading players, MailOnline Reports.

The Argentine star comfortably tops a CIES Football Observatory countdown of football's most valuable players and is worth £68m more than his Real Madrid rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

The totals serve as a 'guide price' for the January transfer window, using a calculation that takes into account player performance, age, contract and the results of their team.

The top 10 features six Premier League players - Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea, Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, Raheem Sterling of Liverpool and Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal.

But it finds Messi far and away the most expensive player in Europe at the moment.

Ronaldo, the favourite to win the Ballon d'Or for the world's best player this month, is valued at £104.3m should someone try to prise him away from European champions Real.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard comes in at a cool £77.6m, followed by his team-mate, the free-scoring Diego Costa at £65.9m.

Paul Pogba, of Juventus and France, is fifth on the list at £56.4m while Manchester City's prolific Argentine Sergio Aguero is just above the £50m mark.

Liverpool's Sterling (£49.4m), Chelsea's Fabregas (£48.6m), Arsenal's Sanchez (£47.8m) and Real's Gareth Bale (£47m), who commanded the world's biggest transfer fee in 2013, complete the top 10.

The values of everyone in the top 10 except Messi and Bale has increased since the last ranking was released in June. The CIES Football Observatory used their own algorithm based on 1,500 completed transfers since 2009 to work out the current 'price guide'.

It also takes into consideration player performance such as goals, assists and other on-pitch stats as well as their age, position and contract duration. It also weighs up results achieved by their club and national teams.

The star-studded list also features the likes of Neymar (11th, £45.4m), Angel Di Maria (12th, £44.6m), Luis Suarez (16th, £37.6m) and Radamel Falcao (60th, £21.9m).

So Fr Mbaka Is Now Trending; I Feel Sorry For Him, Says Nwodo

I know our political memory many times is turned to the default mode of forgetfulness, but go back after ’99 and we were into a Chimaroke Nnamani era, an era that like that of his father OBJ at the centre was marked by evils in their most egregious and brazen forms.

A disaster, an ache, a nightmare, a terror that the coal city is only now trying to recover from. So anything that could bring relief, succour, hope, anything that could bring encouragement, was tenaciously clung to by the 042 people at the time. It’s then not difficult to imagine the balm that was an Mbaka to the random ache that was the terror Chimaroke. An Mbaka at such times was some breath of fresh air.

The first and only time I was in an Mbaka mass was around 2008 or 2009 if I remember correctly. It was on a Sunday, something had taken me there by coincidence. That was my first and only time I was in his mass physically. I came out with an impression of a man that is so proud, it borders on the wrong side of arrogance. It was so glaring it blocked every other positive I could have got from him on the day. Such was how strong the impression was. No hyperbole. Then he was still at his GRA temporary site.

Safe to say it was no love at first sight. I remember telling my friend then of the formers impression on me, but he didn’t quiet much take it seriously. Where his ministry has reached since then is visible even to the blind. Gordons calls it ‘permanent site.’

Then there was a turn of an era.

With the people of Enugu finally getting rid of the nightmare Chimaroke, not after wasting our lives for eight solid years anyway, it was a turn to an era with promise. Was it so for Fr Mbaka…? I know some people, priests, seminarians, lay people, who were critical of the way he used the pulpit to attack and keep terror regime of Chimaroke on its toes; but unless you didn’t really experience a Chimaroke or an OBJ, you would sanction any sane means to get such descendants of Lucifer back to where to they came from! So people like me didn’t quiet worry about Mbaka’s modus operandi.

Although one had to admit his statements pretty much abused the pulpit on some occasions at the time.

It was my big brother Aloysius who first brought Mbaka’s talk about Nsukka people to my notice. Then at the Oblate house I was the only Nsukka guy. And being the kind of person I am, who, on some occasions then in the community had being critical of Mbaka, it was understandable when my brother Aloysius brought the talk to my notice. He didn’t have the talk then, he only asked if I had heard it to which of course was negative, before he went on to tell me some of the contents of it. I was alarmed, but waited to hear it to really ascertain what he actually said. When later that year, I think it was in 2011, I heard the tape, while holidaying in Enugu, alarm was an understatement of what I felt.

I was wondering how a respectable priest, a catholic priest of such ranking will stand on the pulpit, within the confines of the sacred liturgy of the mass and unleash statements that smirked of prejudice, bias, preconception, bigotry. Why will a priest make statements that were plain derogatory, offensive, insulting, scornful, mocking, sarcastic, about a whole community of people? And as if to add salt to injury, he capped it with, ‘nsukka ndoo, ndoo’ (nsukka sorry o, sorry o). my head was on a spin. To say the least, that was a trumpeted abuse of the sanctity of the sacred alter and sanctuary where he stood and a gross abuse of the sacred mass within which he promoted such hate. I told friends then that his bishop needed to bring him to order.

What was even more surprising was that what necessitated Mbaka’s remarks on Nsukka people at the time, was Okwesilieze Nwodo, the former PDP national secretary’s debacle at the time with his party and the governor Sulivan Chime, something that had no iota of connection with the former’s tribe, being an Nsukka man. Suffice it to say that, some of what he Mbaka said within the content of the said message bordered on serious political ignorance. I think Sulivan had visited the adoration ground after he became governor. But you know what, many people applauded that message. Whence our reasoning…?

Then came the Ohakim saga after he visited the adoration ground, the recanting by Mbaka, and then attack on Rochas administration, after the support for the latter prior to his election. Then a Patience Jonathan went to the adoration ground, there was a 'prophetic' message in support of GEJ as the next big thing. It is APC and Buhari now.

What I see in Nigeria is an alarming proliferation of falsehood, deceit, hypocrisy, lies, double-faced, double-speak, unashamed posturing and inconsistencies, that have all but dismembered the remaining joints holding our togetherness. I have once made a post that the custodians of our religious traditions should realise that the first message of God, is love. Custodians of our religions should realise that, their primary task is to keep bridging the ever increasing chasm between the human community.

The communal content in humans is a spiritual content, one that should be protected, promoted, preached, at all times by the custodians of the religions in Nigeria. It is religion that has helped in no small measure to erode, destroy and permanently put to sleep the rational faculties of the people. The reasoning of many immediately a discussion become religious goes into the default mode of sleep; they become closed, and difficult to talk with, and in most cases intolerant. Such should never be allowed to foster, much more by priests.

The people close to Fr Mbaka, (I hear he has become ‘daddy’ to many), should go tell him to steer clear of the toxic, lethal, and deadly waters of partisan politics; especially the Nigerian brand. If he has issues with neutrality in concertizing political leaders, he had better completely steer clear of anything political. He needs to loosen up and blind himself to the continuous eulogies of his vanities as a mortal. That is if he still remembers the primary goal of his priestly calling.

Fr Mbaka's Shocker Only Attests That Change Is Imminent, Says Oduwale

[The mere fact] that he [Fr Mbaka] delves into partisan issues in his sermons only reflects his emotions as peculiar to every other Nigerian who once tolerated the PDP led Government but could no longer condone the daily and ongoing corruption and genocide ravaging the Land with recourse to state of the economy and security.

It would only cost the ever gallant Nigerian Army few logistic capacity to extinguish BokoHaram within a day yet the Commander in Chief chose to pally with acclaimed sponsors of Terrorism such as Ali Modu Sheriff, Idris Deby, Tompolo, Asari, Boyloaf, Ben Netanyahu and others while the Nigerian Army perish in guise of mutiny.

This alone is enough to awaken the minds of the once biased, heartless and bigoted part of the citizenry with the exclusion of the dumb, deaf and blind disguising as Conservatives but are in fact, staunts of Poverty.

In short, Mbaka's shocker only attests that CHANGE is imminent [in Nigeria].

Fr Mbaka Bomb: Jonathan Deserves The Disgrace He Got, Says Mamapikin.

Jonathan deserves the disgrace he got. When he will not stay in Aso Rock to do his work, instead he will be travelling from Bethelhem to Jerusalem everyday, while soldiers and civilians are being slaughtered in the northern Nigeria…you will see him kneeling down and having his yam head smacked by one preacher after another in various churches….what was his wife doing at the same crusade in November?

Oh, when they said his regime was doing well, he was happy, when deep in his heart, he knew his is a government that is a curse on its people…there he was grinning from ear to ear, saying in his heart that he has conned the people again. You know what, if you are told by a diviner that you were lucky yesterday, be ready to be told tomorrow that tides have changed.

Stupid President! Sit in Aso Rock, do your work properly, and you won’t need the services of priests and seers. By the work of your hand, what you do on earth will be approved in heaven. Now, you have messed up everything. You have messed up yourself, and you are looking for miracles and cheap blessings…you are even bribing priests and seers to give you pass mark.

Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, if you don’t know now, please you will do well to understand that the “people have rejected you, the earth has rejected you, and the heavens have rejected you” This man as Mbaka rightly said, should just step down and walk all the day from Abuja, to the slimey pit he emerged from…or better still, take the empty calabash you have been presented and go the way of “hirakiri”.

In a statement by his media aide, Mr. Ayo Giwa said: "OGD is a youth loving man who places premium on intellectual engagement and ideas.
"The social media community is a great avenue to interact"

Paul Igbo: Fr Mbaka Called 'A Spade, A Spade' And Nigerians Are Angry?

I do not care what the supporters of Jonathan think or feel. Rev Fr. Mbaka made it clear that Jonathan surrounded himself with hooligans, May be these so called Supporters of Jonathan that were there are even the hooligans he was talking about.

Mbaka as a priest has the right and, infact, the mandate to tell Jonathan in the Face "Jonathan, you have underperformed, step down.!" And that is what he did. He also has the right to
put records strength for the sake of those who are blackmailing Buhari based on religious grounds and that is exactly what he did.

Again, He as a priest has the duty to be
the voice of the voiceless, to see the thing not just with human eyes but with divine anointed and to tell the people which woes await them if they vote Jonathan again. That is exactly what John the Baptist, Elijah and many of the prophets of old did, and for that they were killed.

I understand why people are attacking Mbaka, he has called a spade a spade and our people don't like that but they can´t silence the voice of a true Prophet of God.
