Bank Charges Discouraging Use Of ATMs –NISER

The Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research on Tuesday called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to discourage all unnecessary charges by Deposit Money Banks for the use of Automated Teller Machines and Point of Sales Terminal.

Osun Election Tribunal Knocks Lawyers For Unruly Behaviour

The Election Petitions Tribunal hearing matters arising from August 9 governorship election in Osun State, on Tuesday, expressed dismay at the disruptive behaviour of some lawyers during proceedings.

The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime, expressed the dissatisfaction of the panel to the intermittent noise and grumbling made by some of the lawyers anytime witnesses gave answers they did not find satisfactory.

The intersections became so unbearable during Tuesday's proceedings that Ikpejime had to caution the lawyers, who she said did not behave in a mature way.

APC Presidential Primaries Holds Thursday, Over 8000 Delegates Accredited

The national convention of the All Progressives Congress begins in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial nerve centre, today (Wednesday).

The presidential candidate of the party will emerge tomorrow (Thursday).

More than 8,000 accredited delegates are expected to elect the party's presidential flag bearer who is to face President Goodluck Jonathan, the sole candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, in the 2015 general elections.

NSCDC Arrests Four Men For Stealing Fuel From Tankers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Ogun State Command, has arrested four men for allegedly stealing petroleum product and selling same in a black market in the state.

The suspects, Adewumi Segun, Peace Ode, Festus Onosigbo and Edward Oghuvwu, were arrested at Area J4 in the Ijebu-East Local Government Area of the state.

The fourth suspect, Oghuvwu, was said to have escaped from the scene, but he was later re-arrested.

Bizarre, As Suspect Attempts Suicide In Ondo State Prison

A suspected thief, Ayodele Oniya, is recuperating in the hospital after a failed suicide attempt when the police found some stolen goods on him.

Oniya was said to have stolen a laptop and other valuables from the car of one Fadipe Oludare, a student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, about three weeks ago.

Court Recovers Six-Months-Old Stolen Baby

Lagos Magistrate's Court sitting in Ajegunle, Apapa, has recovered a six-month-old baby allegedly stolen by one Charles Isiobor.

The court subsequently freed Isiobor after it was established that the child had been reunited with his mother.

The child, who was identified simply as Lifted, was reportedly stolen on January 4, while his mother, Rita Innocent, a resident of the Inla area of the state, went out to buy something.

I thought I was smuggling hemp, not guns ─ Suspect

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected robber, Amos Kuesi, who said he thought he was smuggling hemp and not guns before he was arrested.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect was arrested on Thursday, November 27, by policemen attached to the Pen Cinema Division while on patrol.

Our correspondent gathered that while another gang member, identified simply as Sotin, evaded arrest, 24-year-old Kuesi was apprehended and subsequently transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, for further interrogation.

Tambuwal's Suit Stopping His Removal From Office Stalled Again
