Nigerian soldier tests positive for Ebola in Liberia, To Be Flown To Holland For Treatment

A Nigerian soldier on the United Nations' peace mission in Liberia has tested positive for Ebola, the Associated Press reports.

He is expected to be flown to the Netherlands for treatment, a Dutch Health Ministry spokeswoman said on Friday.

Women and youths from four communities, in their hundreds, on Thursday, took over the Abitiye flow station, a facility of the American oil giants, Chevron Nigeria Limited, to vent their spleens over alleged oil spills by the oil firm.

The protesters were drawn mainly from Benikurukuru, Kenyangbene, Bateren and Deghelle, all in Warri South West council of Delta State.

A former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.), has taken a swipe at the United States on its refusal to sell arms to Nigeria to fight the insurgency by the Islamic group, Boko Haram.
