Vote For Me To Become The President Of Nigeria And I Will End Insurgency - Buhari

A former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd.), has promised to end insurgency and other forms of insecurity in the country, if elected President under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections.

The pledge is coming amidst rising insurgency by the Boko Haram Islamic sect in the North-East and especially the Friday's attack on Kano Central Mosque. He also denied sharing money to delegates during his recent visit to Imo
State during his nationwide tour to meet the APC delegates.

PDP Delta State Chapter Threatens To Sanction Aspirants Parading Fake Results

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State, has threatened to sanction any party member or members involved in the circulation of fake results of last Saturday's state House of Assembly primaries, conducted in the 29 constituencies of the state.

State Chairman of the party, Chief Edwin Uzor, who addressed newsmen at the party secretariat in Asaba, warned against further circulation of such results, particularly in Sapele state constituency, saying that anybody apprehended would be prosecuted.

Governor Ajimobi Wins APC Return Ticket In Oyo State

Governor Ajimobi defeated the son of a former governor of Oyo state, late Lam Adesina, Dr. Ayobami Lam-Adesina, to secure his second term ticket.

At the party's primary conducted by Lumumba Adeh-led five-man electoral committee, Ajimobi polled 4,662 votes to defeat his only challenger, who polled 22 votes. Ninety of the total votes were declared invalid while the result was declared at 7.40 pm.

Business Leaders Donate 34 Million Dollars To Fight Ebola

Business leaders in the country, including the Africa Development Bank, have donated $34m to help the fight against the Ebola Virus Disease.

According to the Chairperson of the African Union, Dr. Dlamini Zuma, who disclosed the donations at the inauguration of the Africa against Ebola Fund in Lagos on Thursday, the ADB and telecommunications giant, MTN, donated $10m each to the fund.

President Jonathan Is Responsible For The Insecurity In The Country, APC Blames Him

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Thursday said President Goodluck Jonathan's tolerance for corruption was partially responsible for the nation's security woes.

Odigie-Oyegun said this in Abuja while briefing the media on the APC's plans to tackle corruption if it gets elected in 2015.
